PANAMETRIC PRECISION GAGE

>  Series 25

Panametrics-NDT 25 general purpose ultrasonic thickness gage provides cost-effective solutions in applications where the opposite side of the test material is difficult or impossible to reach. An important benefit of this handheld unit is its versatility to make accurate thickness measurements on many materials in a wide variety of shapes, sizes and geometries.
The 25 can make accurate thickness measurements from very thin to very thick: steel as thin as 0.006 in (0.15 mm) and thick as 20 in (500 mm). Other materials such as plastic, glass, thin composites, rubber, fiberglass and cast metals can also be measured.
The Application Auto-Recall feature allows you to select and recall any of the stored standard or custom transducer setups in the gage’s memory. This permits easy switching between a variety of contact, delay line and immersion transducers to solve an almost infinite number of measurement problems.

>  Series 25DL

These easy-to-use gages provide instant digital readings on a large backlit liquid crystal display. Their internal datalogger stores more than 5,000 thickness readings with alphanumeric identification codes that can be printed or uploaded to a computer.
The 25DL uses contact, delay line and immersion transducers to solve almost any thickness measurement application problem. Its Application Auto-Recall feature enables you to recall and select transducer and application parameters from stored standard setups for fast, easy measurements. The innovative PC Scope feature allows you to display the live ultrasonic waveform with gates and readings on your computer screen.

>  25DL Plus

The 25DL PLUS includes a large liquid crystal display that shows both the live ultrasound waveform and the thickness reading. This waveform or A-Scan is ideal for turbine blade inspections and other applications where proper transducer alignment is critical. It has 25 stored transducer setups for direct contact, delay line and immersion transducers, and 35 custom transducer storage locations that make it easy to store and recall special transducer setups for almost any application.

>  25DL-RR

The 25DL-RR calculates and displays the percent of thickness reduction after any material thinning process. We designed the 25DL-RR in response to a request from the automotive industry, where sheet steel approximately 0.024 to 0.032 in (0.6 to 0.8 mm) thick is bent and formed to shape automobile bodies. In the course of this fabrication, the metal is stretched, creating areas where the thickness drops to 0.016 to 0.020 in (0.4 to 0.5 mm). The 25DL-RR’s unique method of ultrasonic measurement permits direct calculation of reduction at any point on the surface based on an actual point thickness measurement to an accuracy of ±0.0004 in (0.01 mm).

>  25MultiPlus

Panametrics-NDT 25 MULTI PLUS ultrasonic thickness gage for multilayer materials offers several unique measurement capabilities. In addition to making thickness measurements on metal, plastic and many other materials with varying thickness ranges, the 25 MULTI PLUS can calculate and simultaneously display as many as four separate measurements. The Summation Mode accurately displays the total thickness of selected layers.
• Calculates and simultaneously displays thickness measurements of as many as four layers, and displays the total thickness of selected layers.
• Measures thickness of barrier layers in applications such as plastic fuel tanks and bottle perform.
• A-Scan display for waveform verification.
• Wide thickness range: 0.004 to 20 in (0.100 to 508 mm).
• Resolution up to 0.0001 in (0.001 mm).
• Internal alphanumeric file-based datalogger stores 18,000 thicknesses or 1,750 waveforms.
The Barrier Layer Mode feature makes it possible to measure critical barrier layers in multilayer plastic parts such as gas fuel tanks and bottle preforms. This special mode displays the thickness of thin barrier layers that are typically too difficult to measure with conventional ultrasonic thickness gages because of lack of separation between the echo from the front and back of the barrier layer.

>  25HP Series

Panametrics-NDT series 25HP, 25DLHP, 25HP PLUS and 25HPV high penetration ultrasonic thickness gages are uniquely designed for materials such as fiberglass, composites, rubber and castings that are difficult or impossible to measure using standard ultrasonic gages. Their low frequency capability offers excellent ultrasound penetration in these materials, which tend to scatter and absorb ultrasound energy due to grain structure and internal fibers.

>  25HP Plus

The 25HP PLUS makes thickness, material velocity and time-of-flight measurements on materials such as composites, fiberglass, plastic, rubber and cast metals that are difficult or impossible to measure using standard ultrasonic gages. It features a large liquid crystal display that shows the selected type of measurement in bold numerals and the live ultrasound waveform. This unique gage features a host of standard measurement features and a sophisticated alphanumeric file-based datalogger.

>  25DL-HP

The 25DL-HP is uniquely designed for materials such as fiberglass, composites, rubber and castings that are difficult to measure using standard ultrasonic thickness gages. The 25DL-HP can be used with a variety of contact and delay line transducers to measure castings and parts of many sizes and geometries. Quality control departments that use the 25DL-HP do not have to destroy expensive castings or cut up rubber tubes, hoses, sheets, tires and conveyor belts because there is no need to reach the opposite or inside surface. Boat manufacturers and marine surveyors can obtain accurate hull thickness measurements with no need to drill holes. In the aerospace industry, the 25DL-HP can be used to measure the thickness of wing panels, fuselage, ducts and fan blades.

>  25HPV

The 25HPV provides a cost-effective solution for measuring the material sound velocity of castings, metals, composites, plastics and rubber. Measuring sound velocity with this easy-to-use gage allows monitoring of changes in material properties. A typical application involves determining the degree of nodularity in cast metals.

>  Digital Caliper Input for 25HP PLUS or 25HPV

This caliper makes measuring material sound velocity easier and faster. Simply clamp the digital caliper to the test part and send the measured thickness to the 25HP PLUS or 25HPV, which automatically updates the reference thickness that is used to calculate the sound velocity of the material. This high-quality inductive caliper with an IP-54 rating is resistant to spray, moisture and oil. The combination of gage and caliper performs very well in rugged plant environments such as cast metal foundries. Typical applications include monitoring changes in material properties, degree of nodularity in cast metals and curing of composites.

>  25MX-PLUS

The 25MX PLUS is an ultrasonic precision thickness gage that provides cost-effective solutions in applications where the opposite side of the test material is difficult or impossible to reach. >  MagnaMike 8500

The Magna-Mike Model 8500 is a handheld, easy-to-use thickness gage that uses a magnetic method to make fast, accurate and repeatable measurements of nonferrous materials. Measurements are made when a magnetic probe is held on one side of the test material and a small steel target ball is placed on the opposite side. The probe’s Hall effect sensor measures the distance between the probe tip and ball, resulting in a digital thickness reading.
The Magna-Mike 8500 is the ideal instrument for measuring difficult shapes and sizes such as bottles. Nondestructive measurement capabilities allow for pinpoint thickness readings in tight corners and grooves down to a radius of 1/32 in (0.79 mm). The display simultaneously shows the thickness measurement and the minimum measurement reading. The Magna-Mike is considered the industry standard in plastic packaging, but other proven applications include glass containers, composites and non-ferrous metals.
Benefits include:
• Fast thickness measurements: scan rate up to 16 measurements per second
• Finds minimum thickness in tight corners
• Easily measures the center of large parts
• Accuracy of ±1 percent is not dependent on the shape or internal properties of the test material
• Internal datal
ogger stores as many as 95,000 thickness readings
